How do I type in bibliography in the TeX code of PlanetMath. Should I just use thebibliography of LaTeX?

Hi, yes, I would recommend using "thebibliography" with Latex (that way the style is unified throughout PlanetMath. Here is an example:

\bibitem{silverman} Joseph H. Silverman, {\em The Arithmetic of Elliptic Curves}. Springer-Verlag, New York, 1986.

\bibitem{shimura} Goro Shimura, {\em Introduction to the
