--I have noticed that plain TeX/LaTeX command \rm for default Roman typeface does not work. What to do in this case...?

in the doc section
http://aux.planetmath.org/doc/
there are a couple of docs on linking.
Specially the user linking commands
\PM*
to force or stop linking manually
http://aux.planetmath.org/doc/userlinking.html

f
G -----> H G
p \ /_ ----- ~ f(G)
\ / f ker f
G/ker f

I have for example one already defined term, let us say, "continued fraction". When I put it within "\rm" command it does not work. You can try. But in this case this in fact does not matter a lot.

But if I write another text and for example I do not want any further reference linking on, let us again say, "number theory". First a term "theory" is already defined but this is not what I want to be referenced. Can I prevent this not to happen? I guess I have to define a new term - here "number theory" and my text will show the correct reference. I have no other idea how to stop unnecessary reference linking. I though that command "\rm" would do, but it is not as good. Thank you both [igor] and [drini] for your help. Best regard.

How exatly does it not work?
Maybe a snipet of TeX code would illustrate
your difficulty by example.

it does work on sinclge image mode, since that shows exactly what you would see in a dvi.

When pages are displayed in html mode, you see a sans-serif font, since that's the layout of the site (and consistency is a good thing).

My advice is not to focus too much on typographical issues as in conceptual stuff.
